CDRS INTERNATIONAL PANELS

The International Construction Industry is increasing its use of ADR to settle international construction disputes and is quickly learning of the benefits of utilizing ADR as opposed to International Courts to settle construction disputes. CDRS is committed to provide the International Construction Industry with construction ADR Specialists to assist parties in dispute with the settlement of their disputes.

The CDRS International ADR Program provides for two separate Panels of International Construction ADR Specialists. The “CDRS Foreign International Panel” is comprised of ADR Specialists who are actually located in foreign countries outside of the United States. The “CDRS Domestic International Panel” will be comprised of ADR Specialists who reside in the United States who either fluently speaks one or more foreign languages or is experienced in conducting ADR processes in countries outside of the United States.

All members of the CDRS International Panels will be required to submit the required documents that are located in the “International Independent Contractor Information” section on the CDRS website. International applicants will have their backgrounds and experienced reviewed by the CDRS Credentials Department in a similar process that all members of the CDRS National Panel of Construction ADR Specialists are required to follow prior to their approval.

All members of the “CDRS National Panel of Construction ADR Specialists” are required to complete the two-day CDRS Arbitration Training Course if they would like to serve as an arbitrator in order to handle arbitrations in the United States on behalf of CDRS. All members of the “CDRS National Panel of Construction ADR Specialists” are required to attend the one-day CDRS Dispute Review Board Training Course if they would like to serve on a Dispute Review Board or Construction Settlement Panel in the United States on behalf of CDRS. Both training courses are conducted by the CDRS Dispute Resolution Training Institute. All new members of the CDRS International Panels will be required to complete the “Basic International Arbitration Training Course” conducted by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) if they would like to serve as arbitrators on a CDRS International Panel. All members of the CDRS International Panels will be required to complete either the CDRS Dispute Review Board Training Course as conducted by the CDRS Dispute Resolution Training Institute or the CDRS Dispute Review Board Training Course as conducted by the CIArb.
